About Dr Sabita

Dr. Sabita was a woman of exceptional intellect, compassion, and dedication whose life continues to inspire generations of students and educators. Born on September 7, 1967, in Kakinada, she was the beloved daughter of Dr. Ch. Satyanarayana Murthy Garu and Smt. Lakshmi Chitti Kama Rajamma Garu.

She completed her schooling in Palakollu and pursued her intermediate education at Kalakshetra, Chennai (South Santiniketan). Her academic journey reflected excellence from an early age. She graduated from St. Ann’s College, Eluru, and later completed her postgraduation in psychology at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati.

Driven by passion and academic brilliance, Dr. Sabita secured an M.Phil seat at the prestigious NIMHANS, Bangalore, and eventually earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the same institution. Beyond her academic achievements, she was deeply admired for her ability to connect with people with empathy, care, and understanding.

Her professional contributions extended beyond clinical practice. She presented research articles at the national level on mentally challenged children and cardiac patients, demonstrating her commitment to improving lives through knowledge and service.

Dr. Sabita was not only a distinguished psychologist but also a devoted wife, loving mother, and compassionate human being. She was married to Dr. Ramesh Garu, and together they were blessed with two children.

While serving as a renowned child psychology consultant in Sydney, Australia, Dr. Sabita tragically passed away in an accident on November 19, 2001. Though her life was cut short, her vision, values, and dedication left a profound impact on everyone who knew her.

In loving memory of Dr. Sabita Madam, Dr. Sabita Junior College was established in the year 2006 as a tribute to her inspiring life and enduring legacy. The institution stands as a symbol of academic excellence, discipline, compassion, and student empowerment.

Today, her vision continues to guide the college in shaping confident, knowledgeable, and responsible young minds for a brighter tomorrow.
